Spare a little time to our studes-SUYAO

In support of the “Every Child a Reader,” Mary-Ann G. Suyao, School Principal I, encourages the teachers to spare even just a little time to make all students READER.

The reading activity is conducted by teachers during their free time especially lunch break or after class in the afternoon.

Students who are diagnosed as slow readers are the priorities of the teachers.

This activity is in line in the National Reading Month (NRM) which is observed in the month of November insupport of the Ten-Point Basic Agenda of the Aquino Administration.

DepEd continues this program to make every Filipino child a competent reader and a writer appropriate for his/her grade level.

Updates...

1 The supportive Parents-Teacher Association (PTA) officers and members through the leadership of their president, Mrs. Elena Mecos, sponsored the repair of windows of two (2) classrooms particularly, the rooms of Grade 7-Gigabyte and Grade 9-Java. The association held Bingo Social to raise fund for the said repair. Of the proceeds, a certain amount was left. Thanks to the parents and to all who supported the said project.

2 Another thing worth mentioning is the grant awarded to the school by the provincial government of Ilocos Sur. A fifty-seven thousand school building repair assistance was granted to the school to fix classrooms that were destroyed by typhoon Mario. In response to the joint resolution of the PTA and the school, the provincial government, through the good Governor, Honorable Ryan Luis V. Singson, gave such fund. With the said assistance, the school was able to repair ceilings of four (4) classrooms, roofs of the school main building and the roof of Grade 9–Java classroom, construct gutter for the Academic Building 2 (Philip Morris Building), replace doors of two (2) classrooms and repaint two (2) more, repair two (2) toilets including the replacement of their doors, repair and repaint walls and blackboards of one classroom, and repair the ceiling of the school stage. Special thanks to the provincial government of Ilocos Sur. Thanks Gov. Ryan.

3 As regards Senior High School implementation, the school is not yet sure to offer. It’s not that the school does not want to but as of the November 2014 screening and with the data posted in the 2013 e-beis, the school has no enough buildable space for the construction of classroom building for the incoming senior high school students. BUT, latest survey of the school lot and with the ocular inspection conducted by both the Division Senior High School Coordinator and Education Program Supervisor in Mathematics- Miss Norma G. Manzano and the Division Planning Officer – Mr. Hartzell Virocel gave CCITNHS hope to offer Senior High School come School Year 2016-2017 since portion of the lot at the back of the school main building and school canteen was land filled giving CCITNHS available buildable space for the possible construction of four (4) to six (6) classrooms for Senior High School. Aside from this, recent meeting with the good Congressman of the 2nd District of Ilocos Sur, Hon. Eric D. Singson, brought additional confidence to the school to offer Senior High School with his statement that he is willing to help the school in the procurement of additional computer units for the computer laboratories. Also, the school and its PTA officers passed another resolution to the office of the governor for assistance. Furthermore, our ever supportive City Mayor, Hon. Ericson G. Singson, also showed his willingness to help out for all public high schools to qualify to offer Senior High School. Our sincerest thanks to all our officials for their unending support to our school.
