CCIT stude tops Division Science tilt;
advances to National level
Grade 7-Gigabyte student, Randyl Ian R. Abella, topped among the 35 Grade 7 students in Candon City Division during the Division Science Quiz Bee held at Candon National High School, Nov. 21.
Abella will advance to the National Science Quiz Bee that will be held in Pasig City on Jan. 2015.
Other contested events are Essay writing, Poster making, Extemporaneous Speech, Collage, and Sci-Dama.
Other winners are Micah Jewel Gacutan second place in Poster making contest and Cherry Ann Raguindin, third place in essay writing contest.
Mrs. Marivel Dion served as coach of Abella and Mr. Fidel Wigan, Jr. served as the coach in poster making and essay writing.
Participating schools include Candon National High School (CNHS), Sto. Tomas National High School (STNHS), Candon City High School (CCHS), Dr. Ricardo Gacula Memorial National High School (DRGMNHS), Candon City Information Technology National High School (CCITNHS), Saint Joseph Institute (SJI) and Northern Ilocandia Colle of Science and Technology (NICOSAT).
“Immunation: Arming the Science Clubbers with Healthful Defenses Towards National Wellness” serves as the theme.

CCITNHS, Patpata E/S host 2014 DSPC
Candon City Information Technology National High School (CCITNHS) and Patpata Elementary School accommodated 835 Campus Journalists (CJs) and School Paper Advisers (SPAs) from Candon City Division, both in public and private during the three-day 2014 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC), Nov. 10-12.
Mrs. Mary-Ann G. Suyao, School Principal I of CCITNHS welcomed the CJs and SPAs during the opening program of the conference.
“There is something in CCITNHS that is worth retuning for,” Suyao stressed in her welcome address. “It is more fun in CCITNHS if you do not expect too much,” she added.
Mayor Ericson Singson inspired the journalists through his message during his visit on the second day of the conference.
Mrs. Anna Lissa Aquino, the newly-installed Education Program Supervisor in English and Mr. Edgardo Pescador, Education Program Supervisor in Filipino spearheaded the activity.
CCITNHS boxers’ leg reels off in Naga
Joel Ruiz from Candon City Information Technology National High School (CCITNHS), won a silver medal in the 40-42 Paperweight Division boxer in the North Luzon Batang Pinoy 2014 held at Doña Clara Concepcion Pequinia, Naga City, November 11-15.
Ruiz is just one of the 5,000 athletes, who trooped to this City and made name for this year’s biggest event, one of schools skilled contenders in the field of boxing who hurdled and trained for the Candon leg.
The players of Candon City came from different schools of Candon City Division.
The Batang Pinoy aims to serve as recruitment base for Sports Specialization for high level of leagues both elementary and secondary level.
“Joel Ruiz has the potential to grab the gold medal if he has determination to win his battle. But hopefully, he can make it next year,” Mr. Jefferson Pendaden said, a proudly trainer and coach.
Aside from Ruiz, other boxer from CCITNHS, Ernesto Dizon Jr., 40-46 Light Pinweight Division boxer proudly stepped in the Batang Pinoy 2014.
